About the role
We're looking for passionate and technically skilled Aqua Technical Executives who combine strong hands-on experience in fish farming with a deep understanding of aquaculture systems, fish health management, and biosecurity practices. The ideal candidates will be adept at building lasting client relationships, executing sales and engagement strategies that expand our market presence in the aqua feed sector, and supporting farmers with technical expertise that improves productivity and sustainability across the aquaculture value chain.
The Aqua Technical Executive plays a pivotal role in driving sustainable aquaculture growth by providing technical expertise, strengthening relationships with fish farmers, and expanding the adoption of Olam Agri's aqua feed solutions across Nigeria. Through farmer onboarding, training, and advisory support, the role helps improve farm productivity, fish health, and profitability while generating valuable field insights that inform business decisions. By combining technical excellence with commercial engagement, the Aquaculture Officer contributes directly to customer growth, farmer success, and the development of a more resilient and sustainable aquaculture value chain.
What you will do
- Provide technical guidance on best practices in aquaculture, including efficient feeding techniques and species-specific care.
- Act as a liaison between Olam Agri IFP and local fish farmers, coordinating aquaculture and fisheries development projects across Nigeria.
- Onboard and activate new aquaculture and fish farmers, ensuring smooth integration into the value chain.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve farming practices, operational processes, and overall productivity.
- Deliver technical and logistical support for field-based development and research activities, including integrated fish farming systems.
- Train and mentor farmers on aquaculture best practices, while collecting and analyzing data to drive operational improvements.
- Support the implementation of sustainable farming practices aligned with environmental stewardship goals.
What you will bring
- Relevant degree.
- Minimum 3 years' aquaculture experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of fish farming operations.
- Experience working directly with fish farmers.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Nigeria.
